Ban the 'Pledge of Allegiance'

We, the followign citizens of The United States of America, pledge to not say the Pledge of Allegiance EVER AGAIN. Whether it be in school, or any other public place. We promise never to speak the words of:


"I Pledge Allegiance


to the flag


of the United States


of America


and to the Republic


for which it stands,


one Nation under God,


Indivisible,


with Liberty


and Justice


for All."


that is all 31 words in the order that they appear above, as spoken in any other order would not only be pointless but also meaningless.





By signing this petition, we believe that the 'Pledge of Allegiance' is an old-fashioned and a futile part of patrioticism. We also think that by forcing kids in school to say it EVERY DAY, whether they believe in it or not, is wrong. Many kids who say it from a young age will barely know what it means and so there is no need to force them to say it.





Also, we need to point out that by eliminating the "under God" part of the 'Pledge of Allegiance' is not the problem, it's the whole text! This part of the text was simply a way to make Christianity the religion of the country, a big mistake.





By saying the 'Pledge of Allegiance', we realize that this is a promise to no one, the words flow into the air and drift away, so there is no need to make the promise.
