Be Responsible and Avoid More BC Fires!

While people are still suffering the consequences of the BC Fires, and as an avid hiker of our fantastic local trails and parks, I continue to see cigarette butts thrown carelessly onto the trails and everywhere else that I go. With the possibility of another dry summer upon us, I find these inconsiderate actions totally unacceptable. Whilst I recognize that not every smoker is guilty of such carelessness, many do not consider the consequences of their actions. Now we can all do something about it.
Please sign my online petition urging our government to take forthwith, the necessary actions to make discarding cigarette butts onto our roads, into our forests, and anywhere that is deemed public property illegal. Those who irresponsibly disregard the safety and beauty of our gorgeous province as they mindlessly toss away their cigarette butts should be made accountable for their actions.
Thank you

"We the people of British Columbia, hereby request that our government make it illegal to discard cigarette butts lit or otherwise, onto our roads, into our forests or anywhere else that is deemed public property. We have witnessed the devastation that one carelessly discarded cigarette butt can do. Please hold smokers personally accountable and make throwing cigarette butts onto any public land or property illegal"
