Change Ann Arbor's Off-Leash Dog Ordinance and Install a Temporary Fence at Swift Run

Dear Mayor John Hieftje, Ann Arbor City Council, and Parks Advisory Committee
This petition is asking you to take two actions. First, please change Ann Arborвs off-leash dog ordinance, so that dogs may be allowed off-leash in designated dog parks, as so as possible. Second, once the ordinance is changed please allow a temporary fence to be placed at the Swift Run site, so that Ann Arbor residents and their dogs can recreate safely and legally prior to the completion of construction. We are excited about Swift Run, but we donвt need вthe perfect parkв now, we just need something to get by until that is completed. The timeline for Ann Arborвs off-leash dog park has been pushed back again and again. The parksв PROS plan, recognizes that an off-leash dog area is in high demand by parks users. We passed the current mileage with the understanding that action on this and other parks projects would no longer be stalled.
