To the Powers that Be (Hi Howard and Xiao):
We, the contributing members of School of Information class 296A at the University of California Berkeley, petition for a collectively defined final class product. As a powerful classsphere, we insist that the principles of democracy and participation be incorporated not only into the classroom discussions and group project management, but also into the determination of a final assignment.
As collective actors in the production of knowledge, we petition to for the following final assignment:
- A final online product that reflects our learning,
- as described in our learning journals, blogs, and classroom discussions.
- This final product will be determined by each individual
- and will include both the networked tools and new media concepts that we
attained during this semester.
- The online product will be evaluated by its creativity and the extent to
which it reflects the tools and concepts learned through this course.
This final product will be IN PLACE OF the previously assigned final paper.
