Cleveland Drive Cell Tower

We, the following Citizens, Residents & Parents of the Harlem, Kensington, and Cleveland neighborhood:
OPPOSE the placement of a Cell Antenna located near the corner of Cleveland and Merrymont, across from residential homes, and on tax payer funded and owned volunteer fire department land. This tower is well within 500 feet of the nearest residential single family home. The nearby intersection is part of a multi million dollar beautification enhancement project which is scheduled to be completed in 2008
OPPOSE this 90 foot corporately owned Cell Antenna installation for the following reasons:
1: The proposed installation is less than 15 feet from the nearest residential occupied dwelling.
2: We know that it will lower property values of the single family homes in this residential community, and that the residents would seek lower tax assessments as a result of this tower. There are various appraiser journals and industry publications that support the arguments of reduced property values and cell phone towers
3: Variances: The town planning board and town board would need to approve 4 separate variances to a corporation for no tax advantages to the community. The tax payers would be the ones who suffer, both from an esthetic prospective as well as a valuation prospective. The best alternative is to NOT install the tower at this location.
REQUEST the following ACTIONS from the Town of Cheektowaga Town Board:
1: Do not allow this corporately owned cell tower to be built, as you would need to compromise the town ordinances on this matter and would hurt the tax payers.
1. Re-evaluate and tighten the current draft of the proposed regulations and policy, and request specific homeowner protections which are lacking in the current draft.
2. Seek alternative locations; listen to community input on alternative locations. There is no such thing in this technological world as only one location.
