Please close the pet store at Hamilton Place Mall in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

It is a new pet store with truckloads of puppies arriving regularly from the puppy mill brokers, the Hunte Corporation and Lambriar. The new pet store is called the Pet Company. On any given day, it has over 50 puppies crowded into numerous cages lining the wall. Too many puppies to care for with only a few employees working at a time. The puppies are housed in cages that are too small, with no place to exercise. They are eating their own feces, feces is smeared on them and on the cages. It is no wonder, because the cages are so small some puppies can hardly avoid lying in their own waste.

Puppies are supplied to this store by the Hunte Corporation and Lambriar. Hunte and Lambriar purchase puppies from high volume puppy mills throughout the US and then resell the puppies to pet stores. The breeder dogs in puppy mills are bred constantly as soon as they are old enough, with little or no money invested into their health and well being. Many of these breeder dogs have never walked on grass, or lived in a home, but live instead in wire cages just big enough to turn around in. They have no toys, no love, little if any vet work, cheap food, foul water and filthy conditions. They learn to eat feces because it is there when they are hungry and nothing else is. It breaks the monotony of their day. It matters not to breeders if their breeder dogs have major health problems as long as they produce a lot of cute puppies, cash crops. At about 8-9 years old the females generally have no teeth left to cut the umbilical cords and can't produce puppies as reliably. So, when the dogs get older they are killed, auctioned off or dumped in shelters to be killed. Pet shops such as the Pet Company make their money off the misery of these poor dogs. Outrageous prices are being charged for disease ridden puppy mill puppies at the Pet Company.

Please help us shut this pet shop down. We are encouraging our family and friends 'to NOT shop at Hamilton Place Mall' until that pet shop closes its doors forever. We are telling them please consider shopping instead at Northgate Mall. Northgate Mall donates space to animal rescue groups to help them find homes for the homeless dogs and cats. Spread this message far and wide.

If the conditions at the Pet Company store disturb you, like they do all of us please help us close the Pet Company!
