In late 2009, I was discriminated against by a parent of a student, and by the principal because of my religious views, and previously, the majority of students getting punished for doing anything wrong are those whom do not carry Christian views.
The majority of students there are either Mormon or Christian, and the staff act as though it's a private school, so that they can make all the religious attending families happy. The Family Learning Center parent board and faculty must remember that it is a Government-run school, and that they must comply with "The separation of church legal and political principle derived from the First Amendment to the United States Constitution, which reads, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof . . .""
"Family Learning Center originated as a Lake Washington School District program 14 years ago. Our school was developed by a group of parents and District staff in 1996. Over time, FLC has grown from operating out of one room in an elementary school to our current location in south Kirkland. Today, Family Learning Center is a fully accredited school that provides instruction and support for families who home school their students. We currently serve 205 families and more than 250 students. We have a staff of over 30 including teachers, support staff, and administration. " -Quote taken from their website
