Connect Country Club Road

We, the citizens of the Village of Cayuga Heights, are writing this letter to propose what we believe is a viable solution to the TCAT Route 30 bus issue. The dispute between TCAT and Village residents regarding the Northway/Parkway bus stop has been at an impasse for almost 2 years. Therefore, we would like to propose a solution that we believe would be amenable to all concerned parties, and could put an end to the dispute.

We would like to encourage Mayor Supron and the Village of Cayuga Heights Board of Trustees to re-open the possibility of connecting Country Club Road to Triphammer Road, and to allow Village Engineer Brent Cross to resume his due diligence of such construction. This is, by far, the most desirable solution to TCAT and to the Village. It allows the buses to continue to serve the community on Country Club Road, which is, ultimately, the target of this bus route, and removes the Route 30 bus from the school intersection. It would also help to alleviate the deep-routed hostility that has festered between TCAT and the Village, and set both parties on a path of much-needed reconciliation.

We understand the enormity of such a construction project and we do not underestimate the cost or complexity. Nevertheless, we feel it is time to end this ongoing bus dispute and propose a viable solution to TCAT. We offer our support to Mayor Supron and the Village Board to connect Country Club Road to Triphammer Road and encourage the Board, alongside Brent Cross, to approach TCAT with this possible solution.
