FF to today and all maps are inhouse Valve projects or Turtle rock. Not to say they dont like CS but there motivation is different. Getting ohhhs and ahhhs doesnt a good map make, its gameplay baby.

So I say go back to the old method let the custom community make submissions, maybe even pay em a small fee if you chose one.

Or have a damn contest every 6 months were u can submitt your map to valve and then Valve can release the maps in the form of a map pack, and then through steam the community can vote on the one they want, the winners map is then deemed an official release.

This is by FAR the best idea to ever come out of the steam forums. If it was to happen, we'd get everyone playing Alexroyce's classics, the great maps from d00ds.com (losttemple, fire etc.) and we'd get maps chosen by the community, that the community WANTS TO PLAY.
