Homelessness in San Diego has been on a steady incline for the past few years especially since the recession began in late 2007. Not much has been done to accommodate their needs or make changes to get them off the streets. More laws are also being created to criminalize them, so a lot of them just end up in jail. Something needs to be changed. These people deserve help to get them off the streets and back to being productive members of society. Homeless shelters need to be built, relief programs need to be created, this should be our cities top priority in getting San Diego back to the city that it used to be.
