Dismissal of Dena Higley

Dear One Life To Live fans,











The Head Writer (Dena Higley) and President of ABC Daytime (Brian Frons) have made a mess of our show and Mr. Frons is either intimidated or is simply not taking the initiative to do what's right. They have taken respected actors and actresses who have proven acting credentials and they have back burnered their characters. The characters that havn't been put aside have been written very carelessly.











Storylines have become repetitive and have been dragged on for way too long. Most noticeable of Higley's work is her John/Evangeline/Natalie love triangle. The story hasn't carried on and we are being fed with the same material. Where the storyline currently stands at the moment is exactly where it stood a year ago. The same can be said about half of the other storylines on this show. Unsurprisingly, One Life To Live was shut out of the Daytime Emmy's this year. Most noticeable is the individual performances. The only actor/actress representing this show as far as accolades this year was Renee Goldsberry who has done a tremendous job.











The fanbase has called for this show to take some risks, as some pairings become stale, but as usual you remain with the same pairings and repetitive recycled storylines. Instead of using the great talents you have to their full potential you hang them on the shelf and use the less talented actors/actresses. When it doesn't work out to your advantage and your ratings take a dive, you reward those same talents who have decreased your ratings, instead of making adjustments and giving air time to those actors/actresses who truly deserve it. You not only reward those who don't deserve it, but you interfere them into storylines they don't belong in and of those who are deserving of it.











As a long time One Life To Live fan, I'm very disappointed with the state this show is in now (as many others). Therefore, since Mr. Frons hasn't done what all of us want him to do, I am writing this petition to call for the dismissal of Ms. Higley. I will not be satisfied until action regarding this issue is taken!
