Don't Give The Matthew Harding Lower To Opposition Fans

We, the undersigned, wish to petition the club to stop the practice of giving the lower tier of the Matthew Harding Stand to opposition supporters in Cup games. The Matthew Harding Lower (MHL) is the home of the most vocal of our fans, and provides the backbone of the support that our players need. To disperse that support around the ground is utter folly - handing over the area to the opposition compounds this to sheer madness. No other club would let itself be put in this situation. It is inconceivable that Manchester United would hand over the Stretford End to opposition fans, or Arsenal the North Bank, or Liverpool the Kop. We might as well play with one fewer player on the pitch.
We understand that police advice has led the club to give up the MHL to opposition supporters. We say this must stop now. The club must find a different solution to the problem of seating a large number of opposition fans - even if this means giving up a larger number of seats to the opposition, or leaving seats empty. If we continue to give up the MHL, and allowing our support to be diluted, it will eventually cost us in terms of the team's performance. Our coach Jose Mourinho has repeatedly called for more vocal support from the fans. By giving up the MHL, the club is letting down Mr Mourinho, the team, and its fans.
