It has come to our attention that Don White will be leaving the Gallatin School following a leave of absence in the Spring 2006 semester. He was compelled to make this decision upon recently being denied the possibility of tenure, both now and in the future. However, there is a documented history of promises both implicit and explicit made to Don implying future tenure consideration. Consistent with the ideals of Gallatin, we the students demand greater equality and transparency in the decisions that directly affect our education. Accordingly, we demand that Don White, a unique and irreplaceable part of Gallatin, be considered for the tenured position he has been promised and earned.
