In 2006, Florida State House District 70 was narrowly taken by Republican Doug Holder (51\% to 49\%).
David Shapiro, the Democrat in the race, was a great candidate who came very close to winning a tough race during a time of change. His positions were great for Sarasota, and great for Florida.
As a grassroots organization, we know that it's up to us to create a buzz on the ground, and build up momentum for our candidates at every level. We NEED our best and brightest running this year - it's the year we will change everything.
We would like to use this petition to generate support for David Shapiro to consider another run for the State House seat. This is the year!
Although we can't collect contributions until he files - if you can pledge to contribute just $5.00 to his campaign below - once he does file, he will be off to a great start. Please help us keep good candidates running in Florida.
