Hello, my name is William and I'm a student at Jim C. Bailey Middle School in Florida. I am starting a petition to allow students at Jim C. Bailey Middle School to be able to wear white t-shirts again. Since school has started back on August 2nd, Jim C. Bailey Middle School has exiled the wearing of white t-shirts. The reason? They believe that if your wearing a white t-shirt you are representing a gang of some sort. The wearing of white t-shirts is not a gang symbol of any sort, it is a fashion. We cannot let the school take away our freedom of the way we choose to present ourselves. If the students at Jim C. Bailey aren't allowed to wear white t-shirts because the staff members at Jim C. Bailey believe that it is a gang sign, they'll simply just find another t-shirt to wear with a different color. If everyone at Jim C. Bailey did in fact do this, and let's say they started to wear red t-shirts, what is the school going to do? Ban red t-shirts aswell? We shouldn't have to put up with ignorance like this due to the minds of stereotype rednecks. If you are a person with any kind of sense in your head, or even just a decent person, you'd realize that this is an injustice and it needs to be put to a stop.

That is the stupidest thing ever! I mean EVERYONE wears white t-shirts and so gangs arent goin to use that as their sign because then EVERYONE would be in that gang. Think about DUH!!

if you're not allowed to wear white because it's a gang color, then they would have to ban red, blue, black, yellow, grey, green, name it.. it's a gang color, but just because you wear the color doesnt mean you are representing the gang.
