End Popularity Contests!

As an older member of ProBoards.com I have seen a lot of things. From spamming to arguing about pointless things in a thread that has nothing to do with what you're arguing about. And yes, I've taken part in such activities as stated. But, over the years, months and weeks, I have outgrown such nonsense. But, this "petition" really isn't about what I have been talking about. This petition is meant to END popularity contests. Why? Because this is the Internet. This place is meant to get information and speak with other people from across the world. Not to see who can be the coolest person online ever. Please, save that drama for the movies. The popularity contests here at ProBoards.com have hurt people and not just in the past. Sure, people have the right NOT to indulge in such activities as such, but guess where that leaves them? Left out. But this isn't about people feeling left out. This is how people feel about themselves. The only thing these "popularity" contests acheive is how pathetic someone will lower and debase themselves in an effort to be "cool". If you really want to be in a popularity contest, go back to High School. Some of you will state that you don't take part in such activities. But you'd be wrong. A lot of you do whether you know it or not. I've done my best to just stray away from these contests as much as I could. I've done a pretty good job and feel great about myself knowing I didn't lower and debase myself just because I want to be someone "cool". So please think about what I have said and take it into consideration.
