Aim
This is a petition by the European Free Alliance Youth (EFAy) to urge the European Parliament, through its Petitions Committee, to review the reasons for pay inequality and to take action according to its rules of procedure.
It is our intention to run this petition for one year between Woman's Day 2007 (8th March) and Woman's Day 2008 (8th March), at which time we will submit our petition to the Petition's Committee of the European Parliament.
We urge you to support our aim.
Background
The EFAy work to protect the cultural, linguistic, human and political rights of the peoples of Europe. We support the creation of a fair society based on respect, solidarity and wealth distribution and aim to do this in an environmentally sustainable and fair way.
The EFAy want to draw Europe's attention to the pay inequality that still exists between men and women in the EU today and to show our solidarity with European women by calling on the European Parliament to make an attempt to redress this imbalance.
