We, the undersigned, would first like to say that we are all extremely happy and excited about the upcoming Superman 14 Disc DVD Box Set. It was very pleasing to hear that both the Theatrical and Extended Cuts of Superman The Movie will be included, as well as the Theatrical and Donner Cut of Superman II. These will surely make this collection something to look forward to.
However, there hasn't been much talk about Superman III or IV. While these two sequels might rank a little lower on the Totum Poll than their predecessors, they are still part of the Superman saga, and deserve to be reguarded as such. On behalf of Superman fans everywhere, we ask that you give these films the deluxe DVD treatment as well.
In a recent online discussion forum it was revealed that Warner Bros has recovered all the deleted footage of Superman IV, but has decided not to include an Extended Cut of the film, opting instead to include the footage as Deleted Scenes. We would like to request that you PLEASE reconsider this. While it will be nice to see this footage in any format, in this case an Extended Cut would truly be something special. Many of us have known about the full 134 minute version of the film, as it was originally seen in Test Screenings, for quite some time. This is the version we are longing to see, and we ask that you please allow that to happen. With the footage already recovered, surely there would be enough time to reincorporate it back into the film by the fall release of the set.
In addition to this, Superman III also contains a fair amount of deleted and alternate footage that could be used to make a Special Edition of the film. Much of this has even been shown in various TV Edits. Most notably are the Alternate Opening Credits, Extended Drinking Scene between Gus Gormin and Brad, and Gus Gormin's Extended Explanation of Superman's Feats in Columbia, among others.
Once again, we are all extremely happy and eagerly anticipating the release of this set, but feel that with the absence of these elements will keep a truly great DVD set from being a truly SUPER DVD Set. Superman is not only The Greatest Super Hero of all time, but perhaps The Greatest and Most Iconic fictional character ever created. This collection is the perfect opportunity to reflect that. Please give ALL of his movies the Honor and Respect they truly deserve.

Believe it or not, but Superman IV is actually my favorite of the series. I really like the story, and think the Nuclear Man is a cool villain. Now that I know there's more footage to be seen, I definitely want to see the whole version.

Superman is the Greatest Super Hero of all time. For God's Sake, the name Super Hero derived from him. How can you even think about not making his DVD set the best it can be. If you don't, you should be arrested, because that is definitely a crime.

We want the full versions of these films. That doesn't mean putting 5 extra minutes in and calling it an extended version either, it means putting EVERYTHING IN!!!!!!!!!!!
