FM 980

We believe that routing the proposed line along FM 980 will:
Destroy the ecological balance now existing in established preserves.
Destroy any chance of tourism.
Destroy any chance of a school for Waterwood.
Destroy any chance of future real-estate development.
Expose more than a dozen families to electric-magnetic fields (EMF).
Negatively impact the lives of residents.
Reduce the property values.
Reduce the scenic value and natural character.
Create a situation whereby SHECO Members will end up paying large fees for litigation and settlement costs for years to come.
Create a situation whereby the line may be required by the courts to be moved to another location at great additional cost.
Unnecessarily increase our cost for electric service.
We believe that SHECO should heed the concerns of:
National Audubon Society
Audubon Texas
Senator Todd Staples
Texas Parks and Wildlife
Tall Timbers Research Station
Senator John Cornyn
United States Department of the Interior
Texas Historical Commission
Texas Forest Service
Texas Committee on Natural Resources
Darrell Howard
George H. Russell
Natural Area Preservation Association
Ethician Family Cemetery
Universal Ethician Church
Harrell Plantation Museum
Others that have voiced their concerns to the PUC about the FM 980 route
