The voices of the People of Turks and Caicos (Belongers) have been cast aside in favour of the United Kingdom agenda. The UK took governance of the islands in August 2009 without a vote from the people. The UK immediately took the people's right to democracy, government input, trials by jury and self determination. Though many of the people of Turks and Caicos have written UK Parliament requesting a review of UK's actions in Turks and Caicos, the UK Parliament responds simply by stating that they are trying to bring good governance ignoring the glaring civil rights violations toward the people and mismanagement by the UK. The UK's reference to bringing good governance, stems from accusation toward the former local government which has been out of office for one year. These corruption allegations were quantified by a known political opposition group led by Shaun Malcolm, which claims were not proved and irrelevant now. Shaun Malcolm continues to speak on behalf of the people without the people's permission and he is not the people's voice; the UK never verified Shaun Malcolm's qualifications in this regard. The people of Turks and Caicos assert there are competent leaders among them and that they shall have a right to their own constitution again and immediately, a right to their own judiciary again, their democratic process, trials by jury and most importantly elections in July 2011, without interference from the United Kingdom. The people of Turks and Caicos demand their right to self determination from the United Kingdom.
