There are hundreds of teens that use myspace everyday, against their terms and conditions. They claim that they are 18 years old, but are actually only 14. This is most definitely proven with the case of David Ludwig. He and his girlfriend both had Myspaces.
Xanga and Livejournal allow users that are under the age of 17, but they do pose a security risk to allow these people to post pictures. There are creeps and perverts out there that can spy on these children, and thus are giving out too much personal information.
Theres nothing wrong with having a blog, but problems do arise when pictures are posted.
For the Myspace issue, there needs to be a strict, regulated way to prevent people under the age of 17.
So, just for a recap, we the undersigned all agree that:
-- There needs to be stricter guidelines placed on Myspace registrations to prove people above 17;
-- And that personal pictures shouldnt be allowed on Myspace, Xanga, and Livejournals.
By January 1st, 2006, the petition will be complete and will be sent via snail mail to Xanga, Myspace, and Livejournal headquarters.
