We the undersigned of this petition are very disappointed and shocked by the unprofessional behaviour of Mr Madhur Bhandarkar and UTV Motion Pictures ! Unfavourable treatment due to pregnancy is a form of gender discrimination.
An official press release from UTV says - "Heroine has been put off indefinitely, considering Aishwarya's health" - Considering her health? She is just pregnant NOT handicapped!
Mr Madhur Bhandarkar officially announced a 45 days film. Aishwarya Rai is a professional and signed Heroine on knowing that she would complete it within the scheduled dates that she gave Mr Bhandarkar. How can they change schedule days on announcement of her pregnancy ? Suddenly, they need 6 months and talk about overseas shoots, bathing scene, item songs etc
Aishwarya is willing to continue shooting till end july. Lots of pregnant actresses work till 8th month so where is the problem ? They are blaming her for not telling them that she was pregnant .Why would she do that ? Its her personal life and who said a pregnant actress cant do her job ?
Mr Bhandarkar used Aishwarya's famous name to announce his movie at Cannes and thanks to her, Heroine became a trending topic and the talk of town. And now the same Mr Bhandarkar is using her pregnancy as an explanation to his movie being shelved. Shame on you Mr Bhandarkar !
