I was at a showing of a this film last year at the Paramount Theatre in Austin. I was happilly suprised to see almost half of the audience made up of youngsters who had never seen it before. They enjoyed it VERY much and the theatre rocked with laughter.

This is an important part of comedy history, and losing the opportunity to have commentary from Sid Caesar, Mickey Rooney, and any other remaining cast and crew members would be a crime.

Mad Mad World has been my favorite movie since I was eight years old. I am now fifty two and enjoy this movie more now than ever. There are no 'stars' today who could do it justice in a remake, but MGM could, and rightly should do this production, as well
