To all current Major League Baseball pitchers:
We, the undersigned, are concerned fans that have a great love for the game of baseball & the history it holds.
PLEASE, stop history abuse, and keep 755 alive!
No one wants to see a record book dotted with asterisks. Being that the career homerun record is arguably the most cherished in baseball, please do the only thing in your power to keep this sacred record from being broken:
JUST DONT PITCH TO HIM!
Thats right. Give him a free base every time he comes to the plate. Just refuse to give him something to hit. Throw it in the dirt, roll it like a bowling ball, or better yet, just intentionally walk him. Yes, it puts a man on, and maybe moves the runners along, but just man up, and strike the next guy out! You walk in a run, so what? Depend on your teammates to get your back with their bats. Get angry that you have to take these drastic measures, when he should do the decent thing & just retire.
Even if you lose a game or two, there are still plenty left. Man up & win the others!
A short-term setback is nothing compared to a long-term association with your participation in bringing down an iconic record.
