Whereas the Yarmouth Arts Regional Council (thYARC) has diligently pursued the goal of building a new Arts Center at 76 Parade Street by preparing appropriate business plans, performing required site assessments, preparing funding applications, and engaging members of the community at all levels of the project; and
Whereas funding partners, governmental units, concerned citizens and community groups have endorsed the plan to rebuild at that location, but are unable to proceed until all partners endorse the project; and
Whereas no viable alternative has been prepared for due consideration to date; and
Whereas further delays in proceeding will threaten a minimal set back to the building of a new arts center of at least another two years, thus presenting a serious detriment to the cultural and artistic development of the whole region, and of the hundreds of members of thYARC,
WE THE UNDERSIGNED respectfully request that the council of the Town of Yarmouth, on or before Nov. 12, 2009, endorse the plan to rebuild at the 76 Parade Street location.
