The Petition of TVR car owners, car enthusiasts and employees of the company and their families.
Declares that the loss of the manufacture of TVR cars in Blackpool is not only detrimental to the economy and people of the town, but will further erode both this Country's manufacturing base and the reputation for innovative design and engineering enterprise that specialist car companies such as TVR have established over the past sixty years.
The petitioners therefore request that the Prime Minister asks the Department of Trade and Industry to :
(i) Investigate all options that are available to keep the manufacture of TVR cars in Blackpool
(ii) Provide whatever help and guidance may be appropriate from the Secretary of State's good offices to TVR management during the ongoing Consultation Period.
(iii) Provide help, assistance and understanding for the 260 TVR staff from their Local Government as they look for new employment.

Now on my 2nd TVR. Wherever you take a TVR, its treated like a local hero, especially because its BRITISH. This is one small piece of industry that we should keep on these shores.

Please don't allow TVR to suffer the same fate as MG/Rover. A German or French government would never allow such national assetts to be eroded away.
