We the undersigned residents of Lake Saint Louis believe Villa Cove should remain a no wake cove. We request the Board reverse its May 23, 2006 decision to remove the no wake restriction.
The no wake restriction was extended many years ago out of concern for safety. Villa Cove is clearly smaller than the other full access coves on the lake. The stated purpose of the Lakes and Parks Committee is to recommend programs and procedures designed to enhance the safe usage of the lakes, parks and common ground adjoining the lakes. This Committee has reviewed the proposal to allow open water boating activity for Villa Cove on multiple occasions and has consistently concluded that this can NOT be performed in a safe manner.
Villa Cove is a popular area for floating, swimming, paddle boating, kayaking, fishing and pontooning. Villa Cove is currently one of the few remaining areas on Lake St. Louis where families can tie boats together and socialize in a protected serene lake environment. Removing the no wake restriction for Villa Cove will clearly be detrimental to a large number of residents who use the cove for a variety of purposes.
We the undersigned believe the removal of the no wake restriction for Villa Cove is both dangerous and contrary to the mission of the Community Association.
