Police are killing our pets. Sometimes when no crime has been commited. Some of these pets are not aggressive at all, but because the have the name "Pit Bull" or "Rottweiler" they are being killed without hesitation. I realize the cops must protect themselves but this is rediculas. I propose that police officers should either be equipt with some sort of tranquilizer guns or at least be accompanied by Animal Control when entering a property that they know to contain an animal. Before doing a drug bust for instance, they stake out places for weeks and sometimes months. That is plenty of time to notice a dog on the premises. When a police officer pulls you over and you have a pet in the car, you should be allowed to kick the door closed. (Texas freeway incident)
