Letting Burma Tsunami Victims Die will harm World Peace.

Dear Sir/Madam,

While other countries hit by the tsunami are scrambling to receive aid from international agencies, the military regime of Burma is silent and refuses to acknowledge the full extent of its carnage. If Thailand, with only 300 miles of relevant coastline has 5,000 Thai victims, then how about Burma, with 1,500 miles of coastline with hundreds of shore islands?

Surely, there MUST have been thousands, if not tens of thousands of victims. In fact, there are reports of at least 2,500 migrant workers from Burma who have died and 7000 missing in Thailand alone. If 300 miles of Thai coastline can produce over ten thousand victims, then how about the rest of Burma? How about the survivors who probably number in the hundreds of thousands?

Why, then, doesn't the military rulers allow any international aid workers to come inside and help? After all, the country is poor and the people are starving. Any decent government that truly cares for its people would open up their doors and accept any form of aid.

The reason the military rulers will not open their doors is because they are afraid the people will report not only the damage wrought by the tsunami, but the decades of brutal mistreatment that is collectively more overwhelming than the tsunami itself. The country's ruling military dictator is paranoid about any foreign aid worker finding out the exact specific nature of its brutality against its own people.

In addition, the regime has been allowing the Chinese military to set up a series of naval, air force, and army units along the coast and inside the country as a strategic stepping-stone towards future military adventures in South Asia. Just the simple fact that the Burma govt. is entirely willing to sacrifice the welfare of hundreds of tsunami survivors to protect these military secrets is testament to its EVIL AGGRESSIVE nature.

We therefore appeal to you,not only for help to support the tsunami victims, but to take action against the Burma military rulers in the name of International Peace to prevent the rebuilding of these secret Chinese naval bases, and to demand for the withdrawal of Chinese all air force and army personnel from the Burma mainland, and for the Military Regime to free its political prisoners and to hold free and open Tripartite Reconciliation talks with Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and her NLD Party; and with each of the Ethnic Groups such as the Karen, Karenni, Kachin, Chin, Mon, Arakan, Shan, and others. The most important thing is those working for democracy in Burma that it is only through meaningful dialogue between political forces that we can achieve national reconciliation, which is the first most vital requisite for a united and prosperous country.

We the undersigned, therefore call upon you ,to support by all means that may necessary the removal of the military dictatorship and its replacement by democratic rule.

The Burmese military enemies have always been within: the populace, ethnic, communist rebels.

Thanking you,

Sincerely,
