Dear Prime Minister,
More than 100,000 signatures makes this Petition eligible for full debate in Parliament according to your statement of Political Reform.
People who live in the countryside do not have access to the widespread public transport that is available in cities and large towns. They have to own and use cars. They generally travel further to get to work, the shops, church and to take children to school. Rural employers rarely provide company cars and salaries in the country are typically lower than in the cities.
As a result transportation costs rural citizens unfairly more than urban dwellers.
We hereby petition the Government to allow us to table a bill allowing private cars owned by rural British citizens to run on rebated heavy oil and to license them as 'excepted vehicles.'
