I think that the time has now come come for the Grand Orange Lodge of Scotland to lift the ban they have on carrying standards of the 36th Ulster Division and Young Citizen Volunteers.
Both these Organizations formed part of the British Army in the Battle of the Somme and paid the ultimate sacrifice for the freedom that we have today.
If the Grand Orange Lodge of Scotland were to look at the names of the battles and the dates on these standards and looked at the history books they would see that these standards are LEGAL and should be flow with pride at every parade we have.
I should hope that the Order should take heed and lift this ban immediatley as it is disrespctful to make us hide our flags which many of us hold so dear.
