Dear Apple,
As much as we appreciate the new features on your new aluminum Macbook model, we feel that the decision to abandon firewire was a serious error in judgement on your part. Firewire is useful for target disk mode, numerous audio peripherals with no USB alternative, external hard drives, card readers, camcorders, and numerous other devices. Although some of these devices do have USB equivalents, it is preposterous to expect your customers to spend large sums of money to replace perfectly working equipment. Had you at least included a work around such as an express card slot to enable continued use of Firewire, this would at least been more palatable. Instead of you have completely left your loyal users without any recourse. The Macbook Pro is simply not an alternative for many people due to the size or cost. This seems like a very capricious and not well thought out decision. Please reconsider this move and bring back firewire on your next Macbook revision and if you have any plans to leave out firewire on any other future Mac model updates, please abandon those plans.

Instead of upgrading to an option where one can have the possibility to upgrade to firewire 800 even on the smallest screen macbook, they threw it out. Shame. If noone else supports firewire technology, there is one (and ALWAYS the biggest) part that does

Firewire 400 has many advantages respect USB 2: daisy chain (no hub need), more power supply, twice speed with hard drives. TWICE SPEED!
