There are thousands of blind musicians all over the world. There are also thousands of them, that want to produce music digitally. They are in different countries; from Iran to United States, from Afghanistan to Brazil. Therefore, it is only wise to give them tools that easily interact with their screen readers (if you don't know what screen readers are, go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Screen_reader). Despite what logic says, accessibility is not available in sound libraries which have really high sound quality (for example, Eastwest Quantum Leap, Xsample Chamber Ensemble, Miroslav Philharmonik, and many others). It is because they all use Kontakt Player, a software produced by Native Instruments (at http://www.native-instruments.com) that is not accessible. Despite many attempts that have been madeby the blind musiciansto contact Native Instruments and let them know of the situation and urge them to make their widely known software accessible, there has not been a reply received, not even one that would contain, We don't care about accessibility.
We, the signers of this petition, ask that this software be made accessible, to further bridge the gap between the blind and sighted, and give the blind the luxury of using these tools, for the sake of music. For the sake of unleashing creativity.
