The right to Vote is one of the most crucial rights given to each citizen of this great country. This right ensures that the course of this country firmly in the hands of the citizens. Unfortunately, too few of our citizens exercise this right when the time comes. This is why we need a National Holiday, recognized by all States, to support and encourage each citizen to participate in this important event.
This holiday would help to provide the following:
Encourage all citizens to vote.
Give all working citizens the time to vote.
Enhance our National Pride and celebrate Democracy.
The new holiday would be called Democracy Day and would occur on the Tuesday after the first Monday in November, the same day as Election Day. We have a holiday to celebrate the birth of or Nation, the 4th of July; now let have a holiday to celebrate our Nation's future, Democracy Day!
