NCAA Playoffs

NCAA Division I-A football is the only men's or women's sport in America for which no playoff system exists. The Bowl Championship Series attempts to create a championship game each year by having the top 2 teams from their polling system play against each other. This system has been controversial since it's inception and needs to address the issue at hand. An undisputed national champion can only be decided on the field of play through a playoff system as in every other sport. Many are willing to try a +1 but this will not work either. Evidence is in the 07-08 BCS games because who would be the +1? USC? West Virginia? Georgia? USC handled their game with ease. Georgia handled Hawaii. WVU well over OU. If a plus 1 was here now, we would be having the same discussion, therefore that will not work either. There were 32 bowls in the 07-08 year, it would not even take a 1/4th of those games to have a 8 team playoff. Hopefully with even more public and media demand, us the general public, the people who pay to watch your games, will be heard.
