This is a petition to end the RAPE SHIELD LAWS (IE THE KOBE CASE see www.noshield.com 5/6/04). I lecture at 2 universities on Domestic Violence and have even worked on a project for the UN on the subject. The RAPE SHIELD LAWS ARW A LICENSE TO PERJURE. Examine the following facts:
Kobe Bryant is the 9th sports figure accused of rape in the last few years. The others Michael Irving & Eric Williams (Cowboys),Juwan Howard& Chris Webber(Wizards),Derrick Coleman (Nets), Dennis Rodman (Lakers),DMX(Rapper), Scotty Anderson(Lions)-all accused by strippers-all found to be DNA false. Black athletes are being targeted for BLACKMAIL-and the court knows it (each one of these women sued-(1 was Iranian,2 White, the rest Black).I magine if there was a law that prevented the press from mentioning the name of the celebrity accused of rape-and if he is found not guilty -his name can never be published! THE FALSE RAPE SHIELD LAW- A clear violation of the 1st Amendment and every media entity would fight it as they joined with Larry Flynt (NY TIMES, Gannett,etc)to fight Jerry Falwell's suit. I am calling on 5 million people a petition allowing the accused to have rights. How many more people have to go to prison for 20 years -before we seek to find out the truth in the courts?

I am not impressed with this law if it allows women to use it against men who are not rapists. False allegations are just as harmful to all involved as it is if the allegation are true

I believe that when the RSL were written, they were meant to protect rape victims from further humilation, but now it seems as if many people want to use the RSL to hide evidence, that is not what it is there to do.

I think that it is unfortunate that in today's society women are believed no matter what and that all men are presumed to be guilty without any evidence. Kobe Bryant's accuser is a proven nutcase and yet no medical evidence will be allowed in at trial tha
