Oppose an Arab State in Israel

In August of 2005 most of US Jewry stood in silence as the beautiful communities of Gush Katif and Northern Samaria were destroyed. We watched as our Jewish brothers were ripped out of their shuls, yeshivas, homes and even the deceased from their graves. We watched the soil of life turn into the soil of death and destruction. We watched all this in silence because we foolishly followed your lead. Now we as a community must rectify this grievous sin.

We the undersigned demand that the Orthodox Union lead a strong opposition to any expulsion of Jews from any part of the Land of Israel. We demand that the Orthodox Union lead a strong opposition to the creation of any foreign state on the Land of Israel. An expulsion of Jews and the creation of an Arab State would pose grave dangers to the Jewish People.

1. The expulsion of nearly 300,000 Jews: The lives of around 300,000 Jews will be ruined, as will their homes, synagogues, yeshivas, schools and businesses. The beautiful communities will be handed over to the enemy.



2. The entire mountain range of Judea and Smaria will be handed to the enemy (Hamas, Fatah, Islamic Jihad, etc.). Rockets from Hebron will hit Beersheba and Kiryat Gat; Bethlehem will hit Jerusalem; Bodrus will hit Ben-Gurion Airport; Rantis will hit Tel Aviv; Kalkilya will hit Kfar Saba and Raanana; Tulkarem will hit Netanya; Jenin will hit Afula and Nazareth.The entire State of Israel will look like one big Sderot.



3. The surrender of east Jerusalem and the Temple Mount. No more visits to the Western Wall. Even with Israeli control over east Jerusalem and the Temple Mount, the army has shut down the Kotel for hours at a time due to security concerns. In addition, the Jews in western Jerusalem will have to deal with constant rocket and mortar attacks, as did their parents and grandparent up until 1967.

4. The surrender of over 1/3 of Israel's water supply. Israel already faces a severe water crisis. The aquifers of Yehuda v Shomron are of the highest quality and supply the domestic needs of Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, Beersheba and most of the cities in the center of the country; they are also used for irrigation of large agricultural areas along the coastal plain, the piedmont, the Beersheba valley and the Jezreel Valley.



5. The release of thousands (perhaps tens of thousands) of Arab murderers. This will strengthen the armies of Hamas and Fatah, and destroy the morale of the Israeli army as it watches years of work unravel. Jewish soldiers will understand that they endanger their lives for nothing. In addition, the release will cause grave mental stress to all victims of terror and put the rest the population in harm's way.

We the undersigned demand that the Orthodox Union to stay faithful to the words of our Holy Torah: "Forever remember His covenant that he commanded forever; That He made with Abraham and swore to Isaac; and confirmed to Jacob, a decree for Israel, as an eternal covenant; saying to You I will give the Land of Cannan (Israel) as your allotted heritage" (Chronicles - 16:15-18). The Land of Israel has been our national homeland from the moment God told Abraham 4,000 years ago to Go to the Land, which I shall show you (Genesis 12:1). The Orthodox Union must get up and proclaim before the entire world that the Land of Israel belongs to the Jewish Nation of the past, present and future!
