Perdón Presidencial para Eduardo Arocena

Luego de 25 años de estar encarcelado mi esposo, Eduardo Arocena, en los Estados Unidos he vuelto a retomar esta campaña solicitando el Perdón Presidencial.

Han sido años de separación y dolor no sólo para él, encarcelado por luchar contra el Castro-Comunismo, sino para mí, nuestros hijos y el resto de nuestra familia. En 25 años sólo hemos podido verle en ocho ocasiones debido a que ha sido encarcelado en otros Estados.

Mi esposo fue condenado fuertemente, quizás más de lo que pudieran merecer sus actos, por violar algunas leyes de los Estados Unidos. Pero es bueno recordar que sus actos fueron movidos por el profundo deseo de devolver la libertad y la democracia a nuestra patria Cuba, y acabar de una vez y a cualquier precio con el castro-comunismo, un sistema cruel que ha sembrado tanto luto, dolor, humillación y muerte a nosotros los cubanos.

En este momento crucial para la Patria solicitamos, de todos los cubanos que aman la libertad y la democracia, el apoyo para esta justa causa y conseguir del Señor Presidente de los Estados Unidos de América George W. Bush el Perdón Presidencial para mi esposo. Él ha asumido dignamente su responsabilidad manteniendo firme su confianza en la justicia norteamericana y la fe de que un día nuestra patria pueda vivir libre del régimen dictatorial que la sojuzga y oprime.
