Petition For Longer Harry Potter Film

Dear J. K. Rowling & Warner Brothers Executives,

We write to you today as fans of Harry Potter who were somewhat disappointed with the Harry Potter movie. While we liked many aspects of the film, the film could have been much better and we believe we know how it can be improved. Christopher Columbus, the director, said he was forced to cut many scenes from the movie because it was so long - it was rumored to be between four and five-and-a-half hours in length.

While we understand the time was shortened for theatre purposes, as a group of "needy" adults and kids, we ask that you release this entire uncut film into theatres. The reason is we would like to see an even more amazing movie, with special effects, dialogue, and scenes. Many of us also believe actors like Alan Rickman, Richard Harris, Maggie Smith, etc., were not done justice in the finished product. We wish to be entranced by their great performances (not just impressed), some of which we know still lay on the cutting room floor.

Please, sirs and madams, release the longer film version of "Harry Potter." Many more would go see it, it would be quite lucrative, and fans like us would appreciate the gesture as a premonition for great (if not greater) Harry Potter films in the future.
