Petition for Maximum Sentence for Defendant

To the honorable judge presiding over the Dui and Hit and run case that left David Walt Smith critically injured that occurred on Sunday July 31st, 2011 in Rancho Bernardo, California. We are submitting this petition to you to show the publics support on this issue and ask that when this case does begin and if in fact Mrs. Bloom is found guilty you consider the following when you start the difficult process of sentencing her. We are asking for the maximum jail time, maximum fines and alcohol treatment for Mrs. Bloom that the law allows for her 3 felony charges, so she learns a harsh lesson and never hurts anyone like this again. Due to the nature of her actions on that fateful day we believe this is a fair punishment, anyone who can drive with a BAC 5 times the legal limit, hit a person and have such disregard for him, his life and his family and proceed to pick up her bumper and leave him dying on the street and speed away needs a harsh wake up call.
We ask that you make an example of Mrs. Bloom and show the public these behaviors and actions will not be tolerated that David Smith will not become another statistic, his friends, family and even strangers who have never met him refuse to let this crippling tragedy go unnoticed. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration an estimated 10,839 people died in alcohol related driving crashes, drunk driving fatalities account for 32 \% of all traffic deaths last year, that is, on average someone is killed in an alcohol-impaired driving crash about every 50 minutes in the US. With the statics I found the drivers had considerably lower BACs than Mrs. Bloom!!!

We ask you to PLEASE consider our request, and help us thank our hero Marine who for the last 17 years he has served us and this great country of ours and let us serve him now in his time of need. We would also like to extend a thank you for your service on the judicial bench and thank you for taking the time in reading this.
