www.makepakistanbetter.com Websites blocked by government of PakistanGovt. of Pakistan is active to shut the voices, harassment to journalists, blockade of TV shows and websites since its inception. Two days back globally renowned social and political think tank and discussion forum website www.makepakistanbetter.com was blocked in Pakistan, according to daily the Jang without pointing out name of any website, it reported that some website have been blocked by PTA that have material against top ruling elite. We are justified to ask question to PTA or any other power behind curb on democratic rights of peoples and free speech whether current government is a continuity of army dictatorship or has it adopted any democratic path not to shut voices? The freedom of speech and freedom of expression is in serious danger and continuous human rights violations have broken records of any previous government. It is clear sign that Pakistan Government is involved in violation of freedom of speech and freedom of expression recognized in international and regional Human Rights law. The right that is preserved in Article 19 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights , Article 10 of the European Convention on Human Rights,  Article 13 of the American Convention on Human Rights and Article 9 of the African Charter on Human and Peoples Right. It is against ethics of any religious, social or civilized values of mankind.Blockade of website www.makepakistanbetter.com is a serious violation of constitution of Pakistan and UN charter of Human Rights. It is therefore requested that authorities may reconsider their decision and blockade from website may be removed.It is unwise decision and it looks that someone is deliberately behind to push patriot Pakistanis away from main stream of Pakistan. Whether it would gave any good name to Pakistan that a website flag bearer of name of Pakistan and fighting for injustice in the society may started to send letters to global journalistic organizations, Human Rights bodies and politicians to complain against Govt. of Pakistan. It is conspiracy against Pakistan that its citizens are under tyranny of not only foreign countries but Govt. of Pakistan is treating them enemy.Everything is not good in Pakistan and not everyone in Govt. is free from mistakes, it is duty of journalists, bloggers and scholars to point out weaknesses of authorities for making better Pakistan. Oct 2009: Many websites or specific URLs were blocked including video on YouTube regarding human rights violation, PKPolitics.com, and Twitter.com etc.

It is therefore requested that anyone behind such decision is not friend of Pakistan and its peoples and immediate ban from www.makepakistanbetter.com may please be lifted without any delay. It is independent think tank and provides space to the peoples belonging to any political or religious affiliation. We welcome any person in Government to represent their point of view as many leaders in current Government and officers belonging to Defense are on our list of regular writers.
