Petition for the protection of Sprucedale Woods in London Ontario

We, the undersigned, request that our city council protect the Sprucedale Woods, located on the west side of Adelaide street south of the Willowdale/Glenora cross roads, from clearcutting or other destruction of the trees.

We consider these trees to be an important amenity in our city. The Sprucedale Woods are situated on floodplain and are an integral part of that environment. They provide a haven for area wildlife, a pollution buffer from a busy main road, and help in cleansing the groundwater moving towards Stoney Creek.

We ask London City Council to preserve these woods as part of the remaining forest cover of our "forest city".

34. Shawna D | Address 589 Willowsale Ave London Ontario N5X 1J2 London has already lost its title as "the forest city" because of urban spall. Do we really need to continue this trend? It would be a shame to see this little haven destroyed.
