Push Mark Magnus

The Act - There has been a recent uproar in the media over an act created by World Wrestling Entertainment. In this act, an Arab-American character called on a few men to beat down his opponent. The men that came to his aid appeared in black ski masks and camouflage. After the attack, the men held another Arab-American above their heads to symbolize a martyr's funeral. The man who played Hassan (Mark Magnus) has since been taken off of television due to complaints by fans and the network that airs WWE's show, Smackdown. The hate mail and the real life anger felt towards Magnus is unjustified. To some it appears as if the employers of Mark Magnus are using him to somewhat ease the anger towards them. What is happening to Mark Magnus is wrong. He simply agreed to play this character because that's what management says. Magnus chose to play this role because it pays the bills.





The Petition - These unfortunate events have greatly hurt Magnus' job position. Despite what UPN claims, there was in fact enough time to edit the tape, and remove the footage of the attack. The fact that no effort was put into cutting the footage, during the day of the terrorist attack on London, is frustrating to many. Mark Magnus is a man of great talent. His intensity, integrity, and athletic ability is being hidden because of this situation. Mark Magnus has the capability to become one of the head athletes in WWE. Something drastic must be done to save Mark Magnus' career. So this is a petition that will be sent to World Wrestling Entertainment. When you sign this petition,you are agreeing that Mark Magnus deserves to compete with "main-event status" athletes such as David Batista and John Layfield. This petition does not question whether or not he deserves a championship belt. This petition simply asks for Mark Magnus to be given a chance to truly show his ability and become one of the top athletes on WWE's Smackdown.
