Raise Carers Allowance To Minimum Wage Level

We know how hard carers work all day, every day in their caring roles. Roles which improve the lives of elderly and disabled people more than they can say. They have very little time for themselves, and most rarely complain. Yet carers are only allowed to earn £95 a week on top of the benefit, which is usually around £50 a week if not less.
Carers have talents and skills of their own which can and should allow them to earn at least the minimum wage. That's why we believe that Carers Allowance, the weekly earnings limit of £95, or both these amounts should be raised enough to allow carers to earn the minimum wage.
We petition the Prime Minister to raise Carers Allowance and allow carers to earn the minimum wage.
