In main land Europe China and India we see that the minimum age to hold a drivers license is 18. The benefits gained by this increased minimum age are numerous.
WHEREAS
The advantages of an increased minimum age for drivers license in Nova Scotia would include:
1. Cutting down on the numbers of cars on the road cutting traffic congestion.
2. Conserving our limited fuel supplies.
3. Cutting down on polluting gases released into the air.
4. Removing, what is statistically, the more accident prone sector of drivers.
5. Resulting in lower insurance rates for Nova Scotians. (At least it should)
6. Since holding a drivers license is a privilege not a rite there will be no legal problems introducing this law.
We the undersigned demand that the Nova Scotian Government raise the minimum age for holding a drivers license from 16 to 18 years of age.
