We, the undersigned, feel that within the current context of the difficulties the club is facing, and the role of Mr Murray in establishing these difficulties, that it is wholly inappropriate for the complex to retain its current name.
Further, we feel that the current name is not compatible with the traditions of the club in terms of the naming of buildings/stands after former club representatives. To date, the only other former club representative who has attained such an honour is Mr William Struth. We feel that Mr Murray has not earned the right to join such illustrious company.
Rangers Football Club is urged by the undersigned to engage with fans at the earliest opportunity, to canvass ideas for a new name to be more fitting with the standing and traditions of the club.
Many may point out that the building of the Auchenhowie complex was funded by Mr Murray. They must be reminded that the complex was constructed at the behest of former manager Dick Advocaat, and that the project was funded by debt.
