Reinstate Traffic Light At Pasir Ris Dr 1 Road
Sign Now
This traffic light is used by more than 2000 commuters daily which include both students from the nearby schools and the general public who reside in the nearby housing estates. The removal of this traffic light has caused much inconvenience for the previous users of the traffic light, who now have to use the overhead bridge to get to the opposite side of the road.
This especially affects the elderly and the injured who are unable to ascend flights of staircases to use the overhead bridge. Commuters who alight at the bus stops at either sides are also affected. In order for these people to get to the other side of this road without using the overhead bridge, they will have to take a detour to the traffic light located at the junction of Pasir Ris Drive 1 and Pasir Ris Drive 1. This not only causes more inconvenience but also more hassle to cross a road to get to the bus stop.
In addition to this, the previous traffic light has not caused any major traffic congestions, neither any accident which are related to the most important issue, the safety of the commuters.
Hence, we, the undersigned urge the Land Transport Authority of Singapore to reinstate the traffic light to provide convenience for the large mass of commuters and also to ease human traffic with an alternative method of crossing the road.
