Today (June 15th) marks the Irish release of a highly anticipated film called "Cosmopolis" directed by David Cronenberg.
Both national and international Magazines, Radio and TV stations have been doing interviews and writing reviews about it - all aimed at gearing people up to go see it.
Canada got a huge premiere only recently, which was watched and talked about right across the world.
However, many people in Ireland were disappointed this morning when they went to book their tickets in their local cinema, only to find that there are NO cinemas outside of Dublin showing it.
This is not the first time Ireland has gotten a limited film-release, but with a release of this caliber, it is quite simply unfair and narrow-minded to believe that people can afford to travel cross-country just to see it - especially in this economic-climate!
Every one has a right for this film to be shown in their local cinema, so, by signing this petition, we are voicing our annoyance at this situation and wish that the Cosmopolis distribution be expanded throughout the 32 counties of the ROI and NI.
Many Thanks.
