Many users of the internet are tired of having their computer overtaken by commercialized advertising. This advertising can be intrusive, preventing users from getting their work done, or in some cases it may allow unauthorized people to gain access to your computer! This petition was created in order to protest the usage of 'Trick Advertisements' which look like Microsoft Windows program windows, and when users click the advertisement, they are brought to a site of which they did not intend to visit, along with the usage of software embedded advertising, such as GAIN, which is included with many popular software packages -- and cannot be uninstalled without removing the application with it! These software programs monitor what you do on your computer (aka spyware) and get advertisements related to what you do. We would also like to restrict the usage of popup windows to one pop up window to avoid a loop where the user cannot close the windows as they are always popping up. We believe that these software and trick advertising schemes, however, should be banned as they are misleading. We also believe that all advertising should be labelled as such and should not make the user believe in any way, shape, or form, that the advertisement is generated by their computer's operating system or its software.

Everytime I try to log onto my Citibank Credit Card Statement, the GAIN kicks in and eats about 4 characters of my password. This forces me to log in multiple times in order to get the password.
