Repeal the Summer Curbside Collection Schedule

To Jeff Coleman, Commissioner of Public Works, City of New Rochelle:





We are residents of the North End of New Rochelle. The curbside collection schedule that the City has implemented for the Summer of 2008 is unreasonable and unduly burdensome. Many of us have jobs requiring long work hours. Many of us have small children. It is a substantial inconvenience to have to make sure our trash is out by 6 a.m. Taking the trash out the night before is an unpleasant option given the number of raccoons, foxes, and coyotes that roam the streets of New Rochelle looking for food. We all pay tens of thousands of dollars to the City in property taxes each year, and it is outrageous that the City would impose such an unnecessary burden on us. We demand that the City reinstate its previous curbside collection schedule.
